Moataz Assem

Moataz began practicing sports in 2012, at the age of seven, inspired by his parents’ desire for him to engage in a combat sport that combined both challenge and safety. Taekwondo was chosen, and he began his journey at Wadi Degla Club.

Through continuous commitment, discipline, and unwavering family support, he progressed from a talented young athlete to a champion at both local and international levels. He achieved his first international success in 2018, winning the bronze medal at the Fujairah Open Championship.

He continued to advance, eventually qualifying for the Junior World Championship.

In May 2025, the World Taekwondo Federation announced that Moataz is ranked number one in the world in the under-54 kg weight category and ninth in the Olympic rankings.

Moataz remains dedicated to achieving even greater success and proudly representing Egypt on the international Level.
